Mariona Vinyes Ràfols is a Catalan artist currently based in Rotterdam. In 2022, she graduated from BA Dancer/Maker, at ArtEZ University of the Arts (NL). Since then, she has been developing her own work in collaboration with other artists and in different interdisciplinary projects. During her career, she has been involved in works by Tilman O'Donnell, Fernando Melo, Anouk van Dijk, Laura Aris and Lali Ayguadé, among others.

Mariona is currently pursuing a Master’s in Cultural Economics and Entrepreneurship at Erasmus University Rotterdam, where she explores the intersections between choreography, the art market, and cultural production. Her research focuses on how dance circulates within institutional frameworks and how choreographic work can engage with systems of value, distribution, and visibility. Alongside her artistic practice, she teaches various physical disciplines including pilates, floorwork, partnering and contact improvisation.

Mariona finds that devotion to the work and commitment to the body are essential in her working approach. Curiosity, enthusiasm, respect and honest smiles shape her framework. Through her work and the different collaborations, she seeks for finding different physical existences and vocabularies for provoking new thoughts and images. She is interested in keeping defining her creative language, exploring along with other people that inspire and creatively challenge her.
